Living in Calabasas, CA, the nearby Santa Monica mountain roads are a sports car driver’s delight. I take off early, around 5:00 am, to enjoy the twisties all by myself. Lots of tight curves where the speed limit is 35 mph but 45-50 is easy in my roadster.
At about 5:30 this morning, V1 screams an alert. No LEOs in site. I slow down anyway, and sure enough, a motorcycle sheriff comes from the opposite direction. No worries.
No more than 30 seconds later, V1 cries out again, and sure enough, cycle sheriff number two comes into view, once again squashing my fun.
During the next five minutes, V1 announces two more LEOs, both driving Explorers. I figure the enforcers must have had some early-morning meeting and they wanted to take a “fun drive” home.
The important thing is that V1 saved my heinie four times in less than six minutes! That’s gotta be the record, right?
